A director at bts Group Ltd since 2006, Darren has been operations director since March 2012 at both bts and tbf Traffic Ltd. A key figure at bts for more than 20 years, his personal growth includes the acquisition and overseeing of tbf Traffic Ltd. In addition to working constantly to ensure tbf Traffic delivers quality and value, he is committed to the realisation of the aspirations and potential of the company and of the individuals within it.
Peter founded Traffic Management Solutions Ltd. in 2001, having worked in traffic management in both the UK and Ireland. With expert knowledge and valuable connections in the industry, Peter manages all aspects of business development for the company.
Senior Project Manager and Depot Manager (Suffolk)
Alec has worked in the traffic management industry for over 16 years. Having taken on varied roles within the sector, he now specialises in both high and low speed traffic management planning and implementation. Alec’s extensive knowledge will see him manage all tbf Traffic projects from initial enquiries through to delivery.
Depot Manager (Norfolk)
Andrew has over 12 years’ experience of traffic management, both office-based and roadside. He’s now heading up his own depot in Dereham, Norfolk, where he’ll use his excellent project planning, management, and implementation skills to deliver top class service.
Depot Manager (Hertfordshire)
Tim Wright has been in the traffic management business for 20 years. He’s qualified as an IPV TMF, with M1, 2, 3 and TSCO, and has experience in everything from high-speed sector schemes (contra-flows) on the motorway right down to basic stop & go on rural roads. Tim’s worked his way up through supervisor, operations manager and now depot manager. He joined tbf as part of our exciting expansion in 2021 – a very safe pair of hands to run the new Hertfordshire depot.
Our Support Team
Our Traffic Management on the road is what is visible of tbf Traffic but behind the scenes a well-oiled, efficient support team makes it all happen from planning, scheduling, accounts to dealing with the clients and public. Meet the team:
Anne-Marie joined tbf Traffic in December 2016. After leaving university, Anne-Marie worked in Social Work throughout the UK for 12 years before returning to Suffolk. Anne-Marie has brought her varied skills and experience to tbf Traffic and has developed a solid administration routine for the company.
Simon has worked within the traffic management industry for 10 years and brings with him to tbf Traffic a vast knowledge of the process required to plan and set up traffic management. Simon supervises the planning team, working with high-quality CAD drawings and ensuring projects go ahead as designed.
Liam worked as a traffic management operative for many years before moving into the support team. Liam now produces all required CAD drawings, TTRO applications and notices, to ensure jobs go ahead as planned.
Having gained years of experience in signage, Ted is now working on traffic management planning. His role includes scheduling advance warning signs, moderating stop/start programmes, and live hire reporting. He also reports Key Performance Indicators, deals with out-of-hours emergencies and helps to manage the fleet. Quite the multi-tasker!
Tony has been at tbf Traffic for several years, having worked previously as a traffic foreman. He brought a wealth of experience to tbf, first as a Compliance officer and now as Planner. Tony's role involves drawing comprehensive Traffic Management plans and securing permissions from local authorities.
Leo is a planner with tbf. He’s been working in traffic management for around eight years, working his way up from TMO to supervisor through achieving qualifications. He’s now taken his knowledge from the road to the office. Leo designs CAD drawings, submits TTROs, Notices and other applications, and keeps an open line of communication with local councils to fix any unexpected hurdles.
Titus joined the tbf team in October 2020 as Planning Administrator. He books incoming jobs, distributes them to the correct planner, and oversees the other admin necessary for smooth planning. He constantly works to make the admin side of the business more streamlined and efficient. Titus is also the so-called Super User for our new tablet-based system, My Mobile Worker, and will soon be taking the tbf fleet (some 65 vehicles) under his wing.
Rob keeps things moving: assigning jobs to our traffic management operatives, liaising with clients, and making sure everybody knows what's going on. Effective communication = efficient work!
Assistant Traffic Coordinator
Allan has long been associated with the bts Group, working in various roles, and joins the tbf Traffic team to assist with the logistics of scheduling utility works and managing the day-to-day running of the tbf Traffic fleet of vehicles.
Dan took over from Ted Heath as tbf's signage man after passing a comprehensive training programme with flying colours. He's already impressed the team in his new role, which includes creating signage processes, and designing and creating bespoke signs for tbf Traffic's clients.
Andrea is a skilled administrator with additional experience in sales and care. She will support the comprehensive administration routine that is in place for the company.
