Investment in IPV vehicle for tbf Traffic

tbf Traffic are pleased to announce further growth in the business with the addition of an Impact Protection Vehicle (IPV) and an LP13, which will assist significantly with current projects with clients Eurovia and Skanska.

An IPV, which will allow tbf Traffic to better operate on High Speed works, known as 12AB, provides protection for operatives, making them and the traffic management more visible and therefore increasing safety for both road workers and road users.

Darren Clark, Operations Director at tbf Contracting, said: “This exciting investment in new equipment and transport showcases tbf Traffic’s commitment to developing and growing the High Speed works area of the business.”

The IPV will be kept at the Littleport Yard in Cambridgeshire and will be in service for tbf Traffic from June 2019.

What is an impact protection vehicle?

Impact protection vehicles (commonly referred to as IPVs or Crash Cushions) are highly visible trucks used as block vehicles on live motorways to protect operatives working on the road.

These vehicles are designed to take the impact of an accident, keeping workers and other road users safe. They feature: warning signs, chevrons and lights to ensure maximum visibility to all road users.
