tbf Traffic is pleased to announce new contract success – a project starting in early October with Milestone Infrastructure and Cambridgeshire County Council.
tbf Traffic has won an exclusive traffic management contract for the A1307 from Cambridge to Huntingdon. The road was previously part of the A14, managed by Highways England, but has been adopted by Cambridge County Council and is now managed by Milestone.
This project will include planned work (surfacing, grass cutting, safety fencing, and pothole repairs) and emergency callouts (e.g. road traffic accidents). At times the work will require up to ten skilled traffic management operatives working day or night shifts.

Milestone Infrastructure
Milestone Infrastructure delivers essential infrastructure services across the UK and Ireland. The firm’s partnership with Cambridgeshire City Council includes maintenance of 1,700 miles of carriageway and provision of major infrastructure improvements.
Due to the risks inherent in high-speed traffic management, tbf Traffic worked closely with Milestone to devise a unique offering that would ensure safety for operatives and road users while also allowing efficient work. tbf will provide an Impact Protection Vehicle (IPV) for permanent standby at the Milestone depot in Huntingdon, on a charged retainer basis, to allow a quick and safe response to all traffic management needs.
Darren Clark, tbf Traffic Operations Director, said:
“We have been working with Milestone for over five years in Cambridgeshire. We pride ourselves on offering the full traffic management package. That includes coming up with individual and innovative solutions that suit specific client needs.
“What we have devised for Milestone Cambridgeshire on this project demonstrates our commitment to tailored traffic management with safety at its core.”
