It’s good to see the system working smoothly – between Anglian Water and tbf, the area was made safe for work and for public. The admin team, planners and operation team in the office did a good job from call out, to drawing, to sign making, to securing the road. Great teamwork and a feeling we had quietly got on with the job to make things safe. - Lee Page
The phone call came in at 03:30: immediate emergency in Ipswich. Lee Page (Traffic Management Operative) took the details and headed to the site.
The road had collapsed outside the Revolution Bar on Falcon Street, Ipswich. With police authority obtained, we needed to set up an urgent road close.
Car parks were flooding, and a sinkhole had appeared on the main route for bus services and shopping centre deliveries.
Anglian Water and tbf Traffic worked quickly to close off access and secure the site.
Back at the Needham Market depot, Lee and colleagues drew up traffic management plans and organised custom informational signage.
Silent Street was made two-way, with special signage to safely direct drivers.
Gatemen kept the affected road clear of vehicles and the public until the area was safe.
